Skyline Drive

I love living in the city.

But I also love to celebrate nature, experience it, and be immersed in it. Especially this time of year when the fall colors are in their prime!

Since Drew is from this area, he told me that one of the most beautiful places to see the fall colors is in Shenandoah National Park along Skyline Drive. So we had to check it out!

It costs $20 to get in, but I believe the pass lasts for a week or two, so if you need to go back a second time to get more pictures, make sure to do that before your pass expires. Even if you only get there once, it is SO worth it.

Of course we brought the little Jade-ster. She’s not a huge fan of car rides, but she does love the hikes and frequent stops for pictures. (And she’s a great model!)

“Keep close to Nature’s heart… and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.” – John Muir

We went twice in the last couple of weeks, the first time, we barely got onto Skyline drive, we spent the day hiking a trail near Luray, VA. And it was SO beautiful.

I can’t wait to get out again. Maybe next time we go, there will be snow!
